Live like nature

Nurturing the creative mind

These are some thoughts I had randomly one day on my commute. I always find myself staring at trees when I daydream and believe there is a lot to learn from them. They grow and shed in due season. There’s beauty in the blossoming flowers as there is in the bare branches. Here are some things that came to mind when thinking about how to live like nature:

There are no filler seasons

  • Each serve a purpose

  • For some you work and plan, and others you rest and joy

  • Same thing with our life there are some seasons of focused hard work, and there are others of enjoying the fruits of your labour and resting in preparation for the next season

  • Winter = hibernate

  • Spring = new life

  • Summer = enjoy

  • Autumn = Harvest

  • Repeat

  • Nature doesn’t fight it so why do we

  • These seasons in your life don’t always have to match with natures timing, but make sure you are aware of what season you are in and the next you are preparing for

  • Disregarding this natural flow of life with its ups and downs can mess up the cycle. If you don’t sow you have nothing to reap, and if you don’t rest, you don’t have the energy to reap or sow. And if you don’t enjoy how will you see the point of it all

  • The creative mind is like a garden that needs to be nurtured and it’s your job, as the gardener to care for it

  • Mental Landscaping is also important because being able to clearly visualise helps, but make sure you’re not just worried about aesthetics with no substance. What’s the point of a pretty garden if it bears no fruit
