In a world full of coffee, I will always choose tea
An original love letter poem to tea
I am no poet, but I love to write. So please enjoy this poem about tea, that I wrote, tonight…
I open my eyes
A little yawn, a little stretch
If you know me well, you know what comes next
I reach for a mug, of a regular size
And sip the peppermint tea that swirls inside.
It’s time to go class,
I’m dressed and wide awake
I’m not too hungry
So a ginger tea is all I take
The travel mug is hot in my hand
As I go through my commute
Some might say its heavy and inconvenient
I just think it’s cute
I get to uni
I’m tempted by the cafe
Is it just habit,
To want to walk that way?
I wonder what it is
Why I love tea so much?
Is it the taste that I enjoy
Or the warm feeling that I clutch?
No time to decide
I have too much work to do
But if you see me behind my laptop typing
You can expect to see a tea too
The working day is over
I tried my best
Regardless of how much is off my to do list
I know its time to rest
So I get back in bed
Feeling relaxed and free
Because in a world full of coffee,
I will always choose tea
